Ms. Wilga was last seen on June 29th at a general store in the town of Beacon, Western Australia, before venturing into the remote bushland in her van. Tragedy struck when her vehicle became bogged down and mechanically unsound, leaving her stranded.

According to police reports, Ms. Wilga, in a "confused and disorientated" state, attempted to walk for help, covering an estimated 24 kilometers (15 miles) before succumbing to the elements.
