Key Highlights From Friday's Games:

Chapel Hill: Knapp's Dominance Leads UNC to Victory

The North Carolina Tar Heels kicked off their regional campaign with a decisive 4-0 victory over Holy Cross. ACC Pitcher of the Year Jake Knapp delivered a stellar performance, pitching 8.1 shutout innings and allowing just four hits while striking out seven. The Tar Heels offense came alive in the fourth inning, with key RBIs from Hunter Stokely, Tyson Bass, Sam Angelo, and Gavin Gallaher.

"Knapp was outstanding," said UNC Head Coach Scott Forbes. "He commanded the zone and kept their hitters off balance all game."

Conway: East Carolina Overpowers Florida

East Carolina continued their strong play from the AAC tournament, securing an impressive 11-6 win against Florida. The Pirates' offense exploded early, scoring multiple runs in the first four innings to build a commanding 9-0 lead. Austin Irby led the charge, going 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs. Ethan Norby added to the victory with a quality start, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out 10.

Knoxville: Cincinnati Upsets Wake Forest

The Cincinnati Bearcats, a dangerous No. 3 seed, lived up to their potential with an 11-6 upset win over Wake Forest. Cincinnati jumped out to an early 8-0 lead, fueled by a strong offensive performance. Freshman outfielder Derek Pitts went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs, while Quincy Coats and Donovan Ford each contributed two-run home runs. Nathan Taylor's gritty six innings on the mound set the stage for the Bearcat bullpen to close out the game.
